And whether it is a trip to the dentist to have your teeth whitened or just one of those do-it-yourself home use bleaching kits bought at a counter of a local drug store, whitening solutions are everywhere.

To make it more simple, teeth whitening really works. And everyone who have cosmetic treatment will notice moderate to considerable improvements in the their teeth’s whiteness. The only draw back, is that teeth whitening is not permanent and needs maintenance for a more longer effect.

Can Teeth Be Whitened?

The porcelain-like enamel surfaces of most teeth gives our teeth to have a totally sparkling teeth. The microscopic crystalline rods found in tooth enamel protects our teeth from those acids caused by sugar. And as we age, tooth enamel gets worn down, and eventually discolouration occurs and develop a dull appearance.

There are three major teeth whitening option available as of writing. And all depend on the peroxide concentration and application.

This would involve the use of carefully controlled high-concentration peroxide gel, applied to the teeth by a dentist or an expert dental technician. Typically, the gel is allowed to remain on the teeth for 15 to 20 minute interval of up to an hour. But, for those hard to remove stubborn  stains, a home-use whitening system  is advise for continued treatment.

Option Two

Most dentist advise that professional take home whitening kits are proven to give great results. These take home kits consists of an easy to use low-concentration  peroxide gel. The gel is applied to the teeth using custom-made bleaching trays—more like mouth guards, and letting it stay for an hour or maybe overnight.

Option Three

The most convenient and the cheapest of the teeth whitening options. Over the counter bleaching kits consists of a bleaching gel with a very low concentration of whitening gel. The gel is applied to the teeth by using standard size bleaching tray.
